Plot/Intro:Everyone is constantly striving to be healthier, stronger, prettier, faster, or smarter. It’s a common quality found in the human race, and it is also among one of humanity’s downfalls. As people strive for the latest fix, fragments of their humanity are lost. It sounds like some sick joke out of a horror Science Fiction film, but in this generation, it’s true. A young, talented doctor began his research. This research was intended for the war veterans, not the young, wealthy population that was growing tired of medications and street drugs. Finally, after twenty-eight years of conducting experiments, he finally found what he had sought after. He had the ultimate fix. A recombinant fragment of DNA inserted into the bloodstream with various chemicals would insert itself into the nuclei of various cells. A simple frameshift mutation would alter the genetic composition of a rapidly reproducing cell. Waste from the chemical production laboratory leaked into nearby crops. The infection spread. Addiction spread. All Dr. Orwell desired was to help those war veterans with their pain. Instead, he produced mutants and cursed creatures. Self-deception brought an end to the only man capable of creating a cure. But not before he had a chance to inject himself with some of his own medicine. As he died, three cities rose. Canton, equine estates, Decatus, the feline dwelling, and Rincon, the canine residence, all were created by those that had sought the drug Dr. Orwell invented. He died, taking the cure with him. Welcome to the land of Miramar!
