Plot/Intro:
For centuries, the world's biggest war has raged, right under most people's noses. Only a few humans knew about it, and most of them were in it. This war had generally four sides.
First, there were the vampires. The vampires hunted humans, and fought against them and werewolves. They were powerful, and with very few known ways to kill them, they were very dominant over the years. Werewolves hated vampires with all their being. They were natural enemies, that was how the war started. The werewolves tried to protect the humans. However, there were some vampires, and even some werewolves, who made everyone their enemies. They'd attack humans, their natural rival species, and even those of their own kind.
There were also the humans. The humans that knew about it all, at least. Some of these would try to help werewolves, some vampires. Those that helped vampires were usually protected by them as well, so in little danger of being attacked by another vampire, or a rogue werewolf. Those that helped werewolves were protected more by the werewolves than the rest of the humans. But there were some humans that hunted both vampires and werewolves. These humans had advanced weapons usually made to bring out the few weaknesses in each species. And they weren't usually afraid to attack a human helping either species, either.
Finally, there was one more species. A new species, with a very, very small population. Hybrids, a mix of a vampire and werewolf. Hybrids were usually neutral, because both vampires and werewolves usually made them as outcasts, a disgrace. Also neutral, were the few humans who knew about everything, but had no preference. Some of these people didn't like werewolves or vampires, but were too afraid to hunt them for fear of their own selfish lives. Others just didn't care, since it usually wouldn't affect them.
Vampires were dominant because of the few ways to kill them, yes, but at one point they were almost gone. The werewolves had gotten a grip on the battle, and found the easiest way of killing vampires. Eventually, a few humans witnessed this, and by taking the method the werewolves used, they could also kill vampires more efficiently. Within only a few more years, the humans had begun to win. They continuiously hunted the immortals without pause, and at one point had nearly wiped them out.
Both species went into hiding, and as they left civilization alone for a long period of time, the humans thought they had completely won. So they let their guard down. Their biggest mistake was probably this. The vampires and werewolves, after having regained some of their numbers, came back and attacked each other. Vampires went all out on the humans and werewolves, while the werewolves fought against the vampires. The hunters were overwhelmed as they had never expected such a turn of events. But they tried to fight back as best they could.
The return of the immortals was also the time the hybrids first appeared. The hunters had no idea what to do, and the werewolves and vampires didn't either. As the hybrids had more strength than werewolves or vampires, all three species, 'wolf, vampire, and human, made hybrids as their enemies. But since the hybrids were neutral themselves, they did not see any of the other species as a whole as their enemies, just the handful that attacked them.
Now, years and years later, it is not clear who is winning any longer. There are still very few hybrids, but they aren't as much in the war as the others are. So, you will help decide as you make your character, choose a side, and fight for your life and the survival of your species.
Welcome to the War.
