Time Setting: Present
Type of Animals Allowed: Dogs [wolves and wolf hybrids require permission]
Theme: A deserted town that a plague has wiped humans from, twice. Humans no longer come around for fear that the plague will rise again. Though no one is sure if it may, some day, take effect on the canines in the area as well.
Plot/Intro:
1881, the town of Alimar was constructed beside Mount Tuska- the largest mountain of a 200 mile mountain chain. The town and it's towns people flourished- Main Street became a large market for trade and entertainment. Vagabonds, merchants, and traveling musicians stopped for supplies and to barter goods after their long trek through the mountains- then went along their way. The town was of course inhabited by people- and their dogs. In the autumn of 1895 a plague broke out in the town. The travelers slowly dwindled off as the epidemic worsened, life diminished in the town of Alimar. The plague, thankfully, hadn't spread to any of the larger towns- because of how isolated Alimar was from everything else- and how quickly people surpassed the village upon learning about the epidemic that swept the town off it's feet.
Very few people survived the plague... but the dogs did.
In 1950, approximately fifty-five years later, the town began to stand strong once more. Most of it's old rickety buildings were rebuilt, and trade flourished again. The town wasn't quite so isolated as before as roads began making it's way to, and through, the village of Alimar. Again the town roared with life, merchants, traveling musicians, and people visited for the beautiful view of the mountains. But just as the town became the great attraction that it was fifty-five years ago- the plague, or commonly referred to as "the curse" demolished the town once more...
Leaving nothing behind....but the dogs.
Present day. All that reminds is abandoned, bedraggled shacks and foundations of buildings that collapsed in the storms. Dogs still roam these deserted streets, the great-great grandchildren or great-great-great grandchildren of those who witnessed the second sweeping of Alimar, have even been joined by other strays migrating to somewhere more peaceful. Wolves occasionally stalk the forest but they rarely place paw upon the lands that the local strays have taken over. Often the dogs of the town tell tales of what Alimar once was in the past- the town that was the center of most marketing and trade of it's time. They tell tales of the treacherous plague that ripped through the town, twice, telling it for spooks and excitement- usually not really knowing that most of the events they speak of were actually true. People no longer attempt to inhabit the area, for fear that the epidemic will rise again. Inside they have erased it's existence from their minds, and remember it barely.
